JLL Elects New Officers
On September 5, 2006 the Jourdanton Little League conducted a General Membership meeting for the purpose of electing a new Board of Directors for the upcoming 2006-2007 season. During the General Membership meeting, twelve individuals were nominated to the Board. Upon being voted onto the board, the group went into executive session to elect officers and positions within the board. 2005-2006 President Liesl Hons who has served in that capacity for the past three years had decided not to return to the board. Upon returning from executive session, the following board members and positions were announced.
President - Tammy Blalock; Vice President & Public Information Officer - David Soward; Secretary Treasurer - Jennifer Carrasco; Player Agent - Rita Munoz; Concession Stand Director - Rebecca Alviso; Asst. Concession Stand Director - Patricia Lugo; Field Maintenance - Orlando Carrasco; Equipment Manager & Safety Officer - Gerald Zuhlke; Baseball Coordinator - Simona Olsen; Softball Coordinator - Tricia Taylor; Fund Raising - Karen Pesek and Umpire Coordinator - Melinda Ruiz.
This coming season will be a historic milestone for Jourdanton Little League as it will be their 50th season since becoming chartered with Little League International in 1957. To celebrate this, several special events will be planned thoughout next year. The board may call for another General Membership meeting next month in the hopes of adding three more Directors to reach their maximum allowed of 15.
