Jourdanton Little League Set Try-Outs, Approves Managers
Softball League Age is the age the player was on December 31, 2005.
Baseball League Age is the age the player will be on April 30, 2006.
Try-Outs have been scheduled for February 25 and 26, 2006 as follows:
Please arrive during your scheduled League Age try-out.
1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. – League Ages 6 & 7 (age 6 ONLY if played tee-ball last year)
3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. - League Ages 8 - 10
4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. - League Ages 11 – 12
Any player, league age 6, who played tee-ball last year, has the option to attend try-outs to be eligible for draft to a lower-minor team. Any player who is league age 6 and opts to not try-out, will automatically be placed on a tee-ball team again this year.
Baseball players will report to the North Field and Softball players will report to the South Field.
For the 2006 season only, if a player was born in May, June or July of 2001, they may be selected for a tee-ball team.
All eligible players must attend try-outs on one of the days listed above. Failure to attend try-outs could jeopardize the candidate’s status with the league. If you are eligible for try-outs and unable to attend, please call one of the Jourdanton Little League Player Agents: Rita Munoz at 830-769-2580 for baseball or Jennifer Carrasco 830-769-3671 for softball.
Junior-aged players do not need to try out. As of February 17, there were only enough registered players for one softball team. In addition, there were not enough registered players for a baseball team.
All lower-minor division managers and up should also attend try-outs.
The Jourdanton Little League’s Board of Directors met on February 7, 2006 to approve managers. The managers who were recommended by the President and approved by a majority vote of the Board of Directors are as follows:
Junior Softball – Tammy Blalock.
Major Baseball – Mike Hurt and Woody Wilson; and, Major Softball – Cody Baker and Rita Munoz.
Upper Minor Baseball – Curtis Vickers and Keith Higginbotham; and, Upper Minor Softball – Tricia Taylor.
Lower Minor Baseball –Orlando Carrasco, Glenn Burgess and Joseph Meyer; and, Lower Minor Softball –Brennan Klumb and Larry Romero.
Tee-Ball – Oscar Munoz, Sean Casey and David Alviso, Jr.
