Jourdanton Little League Minutes
June 1, 2004
The meeting was called to order at approximately 7:03 p.m.
Eight Board Members were present to include: Liesl Hons, Tricia Taylor, David Alviso, Sr., Rebecca Alviso, Rita Munoz, Sylvia Campos, David Soward and Tammy Blalock.
Tricia presented the Treasurer’s Report and provided a Profit & Loss Statement for the League’s records. Tricia advised that the current checking balance was $7,249.46. David S. Motioned to accept the Treasure’s Report. Rita 2nd. Motion carries unanimously.
Rita advised that according to the number of All-Star Intent Forms turned in, the League would only be sending two teams to the All-Star tournaments: Minor and Major Boys. Danny Higginbotham would manage the Minor Boys and Timmy Taylor would manage the Major Boys. In addition, Kelley Carrasco and Jenna Gutierrez would be playing with the Poteet Minor Girls Softball team.
Rita advised that the two All-Star teams would work out their own practice schedules.
Rita again reminded the Board that she would be in charge of purchasing the All-Star uniforms. Tricia Motioned to set the uniform budget at $30.00 per player. Sylvia 2nd. Motion carries unanimously.
Liesl requested that a Board member travel with each All-Star team. Tammy volunteered to travel with the Major Boys team and Liesl volunteered to travel with the Minor Boys team.
Rita advised that she was working on getting the two teams approved for tournament play and that she had most of the necessary paperwork in line (ie. Volunteer Forms, Waivers, etc.).
Tricia advised the Board that the North Field scoreboard still needed to be looked at because it would turn off unexpectedly during play. David S. reminded the Board that Smoot Electric had volunteered to do some electrical work for the League.
Liesl advised the Board that Medina Little League had not expressed any further concern to purchase the old scoreboard.
Tricia advised the Board that Tammy had nominated Rebecca for the 2004 Little League Volunteer of the Year Award. She went on to explain that Little League accepts nominations for this each year and each year names only one recipient.
Sylvia Motioned to adjourn the meeting. David S. 2nd. Motion carried unanimously. Meeting was adjourned at approximately 7:47 p.m.
