Jourdanton Little League News
Jourdanton Little League announced Monday, June 11th that Little League District Officials have awarded the 9 and 10 year old All Stars tournaments for both baseball and softball to Jourdanton who has agreed to host them.
Last week, Jourdanton Little League directors voted to ask district officials for the opportunity to host the tournaments later this month. On Wednesday June 6th, Board President Tammy Blalock contacted the District 21 Director, Barbara LaStourgeon, and informed her of the request. On Friday, Jourdanton was notified of the district's decision. The tournaments will start sometime around June 25th and the league is asking for parents of all Jourdanton Little Leaguers especially the 9 and 10 year old All Star parents, to step forward and volunteer and help during the tournament as it will also serve as a major fundraiser for the local league. Board vice president David Soward also wanted to remind Jourdanton All Star parents that the tournaments being held here will save them time and money by not having to travel daily to another town.
The league will also be selling ads for the tournament program. Anyone interested in buying an ad can contact Tammy Blalock at 769-3155 prior to June 20th. The tournaments are expected to last close to two weeks and parents and fans from at least 12 to 14 area towns will make almost daily visits to Jourdanton having a positive economic impact.
Nine and ten year old All Star players are being notified Monday (June 11th). Major girls Softball All Stars will be announced June 15th along with Junior boys All Stars. Those tournaments will likely be held in Uvalde.
The 9 & 10-Year-Old All-Star Softball team’s members are: Michelle Carrasco, Kristen Chapa, Jessica Eisenhauer, Kyanna Floyd, Hailey Higginbotham, Deja Huddleston, Ashley Myers, Mikala Shelton, Karley Taylor, Mina Trinidad and Valerie Vacca.
The 9 & 10-Year-Old All-Star Baseball team’s members are: Alex Aguero, Jacob Chapa, Nicholas Garcia, Dietrich Herrera, Hayden Higginbotham, Ian Hons, Diego Huddleston, John Paul Lugo, Wyatt Martin, Wesley Pesek, Edward Ruiz, Caleb Vickers and Kyle Zuhlke.
