Jourdanton Little League Approves Managers, Sets Try-Out Dates
The Jourdanton Little League’s Board of Directors met on February 8, 2005 to approve managers. The managers who were recommended by the President and approved by a majority vote of the Board of Directors are as follows:
Junior Baseball – Richie Gentry; and, Junior Softball – Tammy Blalock.
Major Baseball –Mike Hurt and Mark Gawlik; and, Major Softball – Cody Baker and Greg Rose.
Upper Minor Baseball – Dan Higginbotham; and, Upper Minor Softball – Tricia Taylor.
Lower Minor Baseball – Keith Higginbotham, Curtis Vickers, Orlando Carrasco and Leann Loza; and, Lower Minor Softball – Adrian Caloss and Brennan Klumb.
Tee-Ball – Pete Herrera, Joseph Meyer and Glenn Burgess.
Try-Outs have been scheduled for February 26 and 27, 2005 as follows:
1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. - ages 6 & 7 (age 6 ONLY if played t-ball last year)
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. - ages 8 - 10
4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. - ages 11 and up
(Baseball players on North Field, Softball players on South Field)
The try-out schedule is identical for both Saturday and Sunday. Any player, league age 6, who played t-ball last year, has the option to attend try-outs to be eligible for draft to a lower-minor team. Any player who is league age 6 and opts to not try-out, will automatically be placed on a tee-ball team again this year. The league age is determined by what age a candidate will be on July 31, 2005.
At this time there are no try-outs for any Junior Division players and higher (league age 13 and up).
All eligible players must attend try-outs on one of the days listed above. Failure to attend try-outs could jeopardize the candidate’s status with the league. If you are eligible for try-outs and unable to attend, please call the Jourdanton Little League Player Agent, Rita Munoz, at 830-769-2580.
Last Chance to Register
The last chance to register players for Jourdanton Little League participation is on these try-out dates. Registrations will be considered late after February 27, 2005 and a $10.00 late fee per player will be added to the registration fee. Registration fees are as follows: one child will cost $45 to register, 2 children in the same family will cost $40 each to register and three or more children in the same family will cost $30 each to register.
Please remember to bring an original birth certificate for each player. In addition, Little League, Inc. is requiring three (3) forms of proof of residency for the 2005 season and tournament play. Please check the League’s web site for more information regarding proof of residency.
